We implement the ideal steel framing manufacturing solution for any construction market including: Residential, Industrial, Commercial or Institutional. Steel offers numerous advantages in construction speed, strength, versatility and operational efficiencies.
Our team uses a client’s plans to design the complete steel structure using 3-D software, receiving approval from a structural engineer on the design before fabrication begins. The steel is custom cut at the Baton Rouge facility according to each client’s specific plans and arrives at the job site ready for assembly. Client’s are able to erect pre-assembled panels rather than individual members by fabricating custom-made steel components to exact measurements. Steel studs can range in thickness from 16-24 gauge. Our assemblies are not insulated, and therefore the insulation must be done on site by a contractor.
Light gauge steel framing is comprised of channels, tracks and brackets often pierced with a hole pattern. Utilizing the hole pattern in each component, construction teams easily assemble structures by simply aligning the framing holes and screwing them together with a simple screw gun.
Easier solutions for inevitable jobsite challenges
Pre-assembled steel packages can be lifted straight from the truck in sequence to the job site pre-cut and ready for assembly. With no measuring, squaring and cutting at the job site, control of construction quality is achieved with minimal rework and little job-site waste and lower labor costs. Clients enjoy efficient construction and buildings that can be engineered to withstand extreme wind conditions.
Steel is not affected by termites, rot, mold, mildew, moisture absorption, splitting, rust or combustion. Globally 85% of steel in demolition projects is recycled.
MWF client’s Construction Services Group (or CSG) located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana produce custom light gauge steel components for many styles of building ranging from single or multifamily units, restaurants and retail facilities.
Whether the demand is for a full framing solution, structural walls, or partition walls, CSG will design light gauge steel studs to fit your exact project needs – cutting each element using a Howick roll former to the specific measurements provided by construction documentation. They’ve also have a hot rolled steel division to supplement the light gauge steel and provide complete framing solutions to their clients and projects.
With the ability to produce framing elements in a range of gauges and customized lengths, using MWF Advanced Metal, CSG is able to export wall, floor, ceiling and truss information directly into a format readable by a Howick CNC machine.
